WEEK 1

This piano really caught my attention because of all of the wear and tear,so I decided to get some interesting perspectives and used the sepia setting to create an older feel.I also tried to show some of the older more worn sections of the piano in my photos.

  1. You did an excellent job on this first group of photographs. Your use of sepia really emphasized the age of the instrument. You created variety and interest in your photos as well through abstraction and interesting eye levels It would be interesting to use color as symbolism in all of your pieces. For example, you could use high saturation color when illustrating more modern, high tech. equipment. Your concentration needs a little bit of work. You don't need the words "concentration statement" at the beginning. Just state your central idea clearly. I would reverse the wording. State that you are doing abstractions of musical instruments because...... Great start to your concentration series! Looking forward to your next group of images.

  3. I love this group of photos; they really show how long the piano has been around and how much it's been through. I think that your entire series will really appeal to musicians. Your pictures capture the beauty of their instruments that many people don't notice.

  4. You're such a great photographer. You have such extreme eye level in your photos and calrity. I can really feel the connection between you and instrument. I thought it was great on how you made the piano look like "back in the day," along with how you used line of repetition. Nice job Eli!
